David, Pauline Brand Pauline Brand David, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend, passed away April 25, 2013. Born 1922 to Winnie and Morris Brand, Pauline spent her childhood in Houston. She attended the University of Texas
at Austin, where she met Stanley David, president of his fraternity and Editor of the Texas Law Review. Pauline and Stanley were married for 32 years, until his death in 1974. Stanley and his family owned the famed Simon David Grocery store until it was sold in 1961. Pauline was a lover of life and of people. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and was always available to listen and to help others with their problems. She knitted amazing afghans that she graciously gave to people she cared about. Pauline was a huge proponent and pioneer of the use of natural and herbal remedies long before they became popular, and she wasn't a bit shy about asking everyone she loved to use them also. She was an avid mahjong and bridge player, a great tennis player, a golfer, and also had a personal trainer until recently. Left to cherish her memory forever are Madelon and Edward Cohen; Stephanie Cohen Boxerbaum and husband, David; Jennifer Cohen; Barbara and Joel Presser; Foster Reif and wife, Jenny; Sheldon Reif; Sadie Reif; Clint and Suzanne David; Barton David; Elliott David; Drew David Reilly and her husband, Ross. The family would like to give our most loving thanks to Louise McCoy, Keitha McGill and Sherry Williams who cared for our Mother until the end. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 28 at 3:00 p.m., Lefkowitz Chapel at Temple Emanul-El, 8500 Hillcrest, Dallas.
