Phyllis Girard Obituary

Girard, Phyllis "Feef" "God saw you getting tired A cure was not to be So he put his arms around you And whispered, come with me" Phyllis "Feef" Fraser Girard was born February 12, 1948 to Tom and Helen Mary Fraser. She died on April 6, 2014, after gracefully enduring four years of treatment for ovarian cancer. Phyllis graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas in 1965 and attended Trinity University in San Antonio. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Walnut Place Nursing Home for 28 years until her retirement in 2010. She enjoyed 10k walks with several walking clubs, canoe/camping trips, Texas Rangers baseball, swimming, reading, and live country music. She loved her family and friends very much and particularly liked letting others know she cared by sending greeting cards- via the U.S. mail. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit and her sunshine smile. Surviving loved ones include husband John Girard, Lisa Sullivan, Chris Fraser and Steve Coppinger, Joan Fraser; Bill and Anne Ballard, Andrew and Lily; Mike and Michelle Girard, Connor and Emma; Stacey Girard Morgan and Ken Morgan; Colin and Lonnie Clark; Sally and Ron Chapman; Nancy and John Roth; Ruth and Lloyd Yost; and more beloved relatives and cherished friends. If you wish to remember Phyllis with a memorial donation, contributions to North Texas Food Bank, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church of Dallas, or your charity of choice will be appreciated. Per her wishes, Phyllis' body has been cremated and her ashes will be buried in the Garden of Love at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday April 19, 2014 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 7900 Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX. 75225.

Bob and I just received notification of Phyllis' death on April 6. We both thought so much of her and missed her whenever we had fun times together -- years and years ago -- but we never forgot her smile and sweet outlook. God will welcome her with open arms and we will miss her dearly.
