Theresa Dyer

Dyer, Theresa Clair Theresa Clair Dyer, a longtime resident of Duncanville, Texas passed away Feb. 13, 2013. She was born May 21, 1921 in Hartford City, Indiana, the daughter of Jacob Townsend & Florence June (Lynn) Battenberg. A registered nurse, Mrs. Dyer retired after 55 years of service. Her nursing career started during World War II where she served as a nurse in the US Army. She went on to work at the VA Hospital in Dallas & retired from Baylor Hospital. A member of First Christian Church in Duncanville for 50 years, Mrs. Dyer led her life as a true servant leader, in her career and to her family. Her husband of 52 years, Vernon W. Dyer preceded her in death in 1998. Also preceding her was a son, Larry Allen Dyer. Survivors include her children; Ronald M. Dyer & wife, Rosemary, Wallace Dyer, Donald Ray Dyer & wife, Sheri, Kathryn Beckham & husband, Doug, Vernon A. Dyer; daughter-in-law, Sandy Dyer; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill & Charles Battenberg; sisters, Pat Breckner & Shirley Patton. Funeral Service is 1:00 PM, Sat. Feb. 16, 2013 at First Christian Church, 203 S. Main St., Duncanville, TX 75116. Burial follows at Little Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville.
