Tom Vandergriff

Tom Vandergriff, who spent 44 years as Arlington mayor, U.S. representative and Tarrant County judge, died Thursday at an assisted living center in Arlington. He was 84. For the second half of the 20th century, Mr. Vandergriff's life was intertwined with the history of North Texas. He helped bring General Motors, Six Flags Over Texas and the Texas Rangers to Arlington.
