I was deeply saddened to learn of Mark's sudden and unexpected passing. He and I had Rotary and RYLA in common, as I just finished my 22nd year in RYLA, as well. I know he was an inspiration to those he served, and I will always remember him as caring and serving leader. I pray God will give you strength and peace as you mourn your loss, and yet celebrate the life of a man who was the real deal!! I will miss Mark and am grateful that our paths crossed on a few occasions that will always be remembered.

I've known you since elementary school. You were such a fool and I loved your sense of humor. I remember me driving the Rambler to Woodrow and you and Vicki Lyles Hart in the car, singing to the "Temps" on 8-track. Those were the days! We got to hook up and put together our reunions and even though I never saw you in between those times, when we did catch up; we were buddies again. My heart is heavy with your passing and my heart goes out to your family. You were a good human being, inside and out. You broke the mold, my friend. Rest In Peace!

One of the most generous human beings I've ever known, a selfless leader and mentor, Mark you touched many lives in such a great way and guided many people down a path that their lives needed. Thank you Mark for being such a great man and genuinely impacting the lives of your family, a family that I hold so dear to my heart. Thank you for always making time. You left your mark on this planet, and you will be missed, but never forgotten.

Jen,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. May the Lord bring you comfort and peace, may he bring you strength when you feel you have none. Mark was truly a wonderful man. I have so many beautiful memories of him in the short time that I knew you both. His laugh was contagious and his heart was as big as an ocean. He would truly do anything for anyone. He will truly be missed.

My dearest big brother,
Thank you for a lifetime of friendship, support, camaraderie, shared memories and most of all your sense of humor. I will love you always and miss you terribly, so save me a place real close by you, please, and don't eat all the fried chicken before I get there. Give my love to Daddy.
With all my heart,
Monica

Mark was a hero. He molded the lives of so many people, myself included. When I think about Mark I will remember that ear to ear smile that wrinkled up his eyes. He is missed and I am very honored to call him my friend. Rest in peace.

I am so sorry about your loss. Our prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family. Mark was a remarkable man. The twinkle in his eye and the love in his heart simply defined him. His actions with his fellowman revealed the kind of man that walked among us. I am fortunate to have made his aquaintance and blessed to have witnessed his goodness to his fellowmen. May his memories be your strength during this difficult time, Jeni.
