Today, I learned of Karl's passing. I have been trying to reach him for awhile and something deep in my heart told me he was no longer here. He would never let so much time pass by and not check in on me and Chisama Ku. I met Karl when I was a student at Emory and he came over to fix the light in my apt. That was 1988 and we've been friends since. He was a light of true and precious beauty. My daughter has known him all of her 25 years. He took her to her 1st ballet when she was only 2 years old, and I stayed home! That's how much I trusted him. She loved him so much. He gave her first soccer ball and always encouraged us both. He'd say, "come on girl! You can DO this!" Awww, that smile will be missed. Thank you my friend for all you gave us and for being a true friend and a Man we could rely upon. Thank you for teaching us so much about living life to the fullest and for teaching me how to ride that cycle and getting my license! Our hearts ache that you have been called home but we know you lived your best life! We love you and our condolences go to your family. We know they miss you more each day. Rest in perfect peace Karly Karl! We will Love you 4ever!

Unfortunately I only learned today, one of my dearest friends left this earth without my knowledge in 2016. Life had been so busy for me while caring for my beloved mother, Time passed and time keep moving, but when I could not reach you Karl I had to find out why. I have never met a man with such a huge ❤ and a perfect smile. You were my knight in shining armor and the kindest person I've ever met in my life. I've loved you from day one Super Bowl Sunday ATLANTA 1996. I've missed you and knew my heart was aching because your presence was not near. Baby RIH, you deserve your wings and your rest. I'll always have you in my heart ❤. Stephanie

To the family of Karl, please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your father and brother. My heart is so heavy over the passing of my dear friend Karl and while I am unable to be you to celebrate his life at his home-going service, please know that I mourn with you and I am there in spirit. Karl was one of kindest, most gentle souls that I have had the pleasure of calling my friend and he will be sorely missed. I am so glad that he surprised me with a visit earlier last year and I will cherish that memory along with so many others for my remaining days.
Rejoice in Paradise, my friend.
Lovingly,
Sylvia, Ryan and Miyah Thornhill
