Glen Plummer Obituary

PLUMMER, Glen "Brown" Glen Brown Plummer peacefully passed from his Earthly life as he had lived with laughter and courage on Wednesday morning, June 8, 2016. As Pooh held one hand, God mercifully took the other calling him home. Brown was the eldest by five minutes of identical twins born to Ernest Deane Plummer and Ethel Elizabeth Brown of Marianna, Arkansas. His parents and siblings: Bruce, Charles, Alfred, Elizabeth, and Lois preceded him in death. Brown was born on June 24, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from high school in Marianna. After attending two years of college, Brown was accepted into the Air Force Cadet Program. Upon receiving his wings, he flew the C124 Globemaster between Thule, Greenland, Europe and North Africa. Brown returned to complete his degree at the University of Arkansas while flying in the Air Force Reserve where he achieved the rank of Captain. January 1961, Brown became a pilot for Delta Airlines, retiring after thirty-three years as an international Captain on the L-1011. Brown is survived by his wife, Sallie Watson Plummer, PhD. (Pooh), the love of his life. Beloved children, Valerie Canon (Chip Armstrong), Jennifer Christensen (Eric) and Jack Day Watson, III. He cherished his Godchildren, Sam, Saura, and Christian. Brown was the proud grandfather of Sean, Clay, Allison, Drew, and Harper. A loving extended family and lifelong friends mourn his passing. His fur babies and vigilant companions Teddy, Tillie, Figg, and Tigger are lost without him. Brown loved the Arkansas Razorbacks, Hawaiian sunsets, Santa Fe sunrises, summer visits to Chatham on Cape Cod and Broadway musicals. Having seen the world, he preferred spending time at the lake enjoying the beauty of his Father's world. He was happiest on the road with his Airstream and the "world's best camping dog," Roy. We take comfort in knowing their reunion at the Rainbow Bridge was joyous. Brown was a dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteer driver, treating each one on his route with the utmost respect and care for their well-being. He was a longtime advocate for the North Texas Food Bank, having twice co-chaired the Food 4 Kids campaign with Pooh. Feeding the hungry of his community was a moral imperative for him. Brown's service will take place, Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 8011 Douglas at Colgate, Dallas. A reception will follow. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Community Hospice whose exceptional care allowed Brown to remain at home with comfort and dignity, Lalan Wilfong M.D., and the staff of Texas Oncology, Ganesh Raj M.D. PhD., and his staff at UT Southwestern who made this journey with us. Devoted housekeeper, Sonia Esquivel, and her loving family who kept us going in the very darkest times. Their care and concern for us is unending and a blessing in Brown's life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of the organizations of Brown's choosing: North Texas Food Bank, 4500 S. I always enjoyed being around Brown. He and I had memories of Marianna. I was 8 years behind him at high school. He always seemed to be calm in the midst of turmoil.

I will always remember Brown fondly and how he and Audrey opened their home to me @ Holidays after my move from St. Louis.
Brown would say "what's one more red head at the table?" He was a kind considerate man who will be missed. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I have very fond memories of Brown and Audrey opening their home to me when I moved from St. Louis. Holidays spent with this family and Brown would say "what's one more red head at the table!" I will remember him as a kind considerate man who will be missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
