My deepest sympathies to the Cervantes family. Some of my best memories are of CYO activities and having Lonnie and Sam help me with my dance moves. And "band" practice in my living room much to my father's chagrin. Lonnie, you will be missed.

The Bible says to cast our burdens on the Lord for He cares for us and in times of sorrow like this, what peace and comfort our Lord gives us knowing our loved ones are safe in His loving arms, free from sickness and pain, and if we ask, He will lift our burdens and replace them with peace and joy, knowing that because of His great love and by His sacrifice, He defeated death and the grave, so that we might spend eternity together with Him. I pray that Lonnie's family will feel God's loving arms wrap around them and lift each and every burden from their Hearts.

The last time I saw Lonnie before he was stricken was at the St. Ann Men's Club meeting on March 9. Last night we had our April meeting, and his name was placed on his usual chair and the meeting was dedicated to his memory. We all miss him so much, and our prayers are with him, Glynda, and all his family and loved ones.

I am so sorry for all of Lonnie's family, because I know how much you will miss him. I will always recall him with a big smile on his face. Even as a teenager he was kind, good natured and thoughtful. The world is a much better place for his presence here and I'm sure God welcomed him with open arms, a smile and told him, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." God bless and keep you all.

Pray to our God & Lord Jesus Christ for He awaits on each one of us to call on Him in prayer. God bless my brother, my buddy & partner. Who as my older brother lead & showed me the way; many time I was like a shadow to him. following his every step as his little brother. From our early days in Brady, Tx, to Dallas in the Boy Scouts (he rose thru the ranks all the way to Eagle Scout), to the Catholic Youth Organization at St. Augustine, to team mates on softball teams & into our professional careers. To my older brother, Lonnie, God bless & keep. I'll be there, but......not just yet... I love you

Lonnie loved his wife and family so much that every hour he spent with each ; his Grace provided comfort to those he loved. Lonnie was a true and sincere gentleman. He lead The Cervantes Family especially the men, by example. We will all miss our beloved Lonnie. He has passed the baton. He has finished his race. He is now at rest.
" I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world " (John 16:33)
