Wesar, Alfonso "Little Al" is survived by his wife Feliciana, daughter Elizabeth "Liz" Frayre, son in law Rudy Frayre, grandchildren Tiffany Ritter, Elizabeth Victoria & Rudolph Wesar Frayre, Amanda Webb, great grandchildren Sophia Andrea and Mazdyn Rudolph Frayre, sister Marie Alaniz, numerous nieces and nephews and of course his cat " Blondie". "Little Al" was a jazz musician, a member of Musicians Protective Association of Dallas, Local 147 since the early 40's, as well as a Goldsmith. His jewelry work lives on with many of you who knew him. Music was his life. His uncle Alfredo Casares taught him many things about music at an early age and was truly one who inspired his music career throughout his life. He played on recordings for The Light Crust Doughboys, Woody Herman, Paul Guerrero, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra under Anshel Brusilow in the 70's and many others. During his lifetime "Little Al" played numerous events in the area for local politicians, foreign dignitaries, actors, thugs, mugs and even future Presidents. A small man in stature yet a giant of a man among the local professional musicians. His fondest memories were always of the working people he seemed to gravitate to at his gigs. The staff, the waiters, busboys and cooks were his kind of people. I can imagine he even talked a few of them out of a fresh cup of coffee and a desert. He was a quiet man & always put others before himself. As he would say if he were here with us now "Yea Man" I made the "Downbeat" for my last "Gig" and " I will not be late". A Rosary will be held on Sunday, June 1st, 7:00 PM at Hughes Crown Hill Funeral Home 9700 Webb Chapel, Dallas, TX. 75229. Mass will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church 9933 Midway Road Dallas, TX 75220 on Monday June 2nd , at 10:00 AM, followed by funeral procession and graveside services at Calvary Hill Cemetery 3235 Lombardy Dallas, TX. 75220.
