Gregory, Alvin N. Age 89, a resident of Irving for 66 years, passed peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. A World War II veteran, he retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean. Survivors include daughters, Karen Roberds and husband Ronnie, and Patricia Raspante and husband Don; grandsons, Joey Raspante and Chris Raspante and wife Camille; sister, Mary Lovell; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family offers a special thanks to Vitas Hospice for their loving care and support. And also a special thank you is offered to Sue Boyd and the entire staff at Avalon where Alvin lived for two years, for their loving hearts and care of "Pa Pa." Viewing is available from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home in Irving. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
