Butler, Barbara Ann 1947 - 2012 Barbara Butler died June 12, 2012 of complications from rheumatoid arthritis. Barbara was born on February 3, 1947, the daughter of H. Glenn Butler and Patsy Lester Butler. She was preceded in death by her husband John S. Bishop and father H. Glenn Butler, and the many loving animals she rescued over the years. She is survived by her mother, Patsy Butler, sons Glenn Ladewig and Jason Ladewig, wife Tina, of Dallas, her sister Aline White, Derby, VT., nephew Elliott White, niece Helen White, and her beloved four legged friend, Archie. Barbara graduated from Hillcrest High School, and Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. For many years she worked in real estate, public relations and advertising. After being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, Barbara decided she needed to make a career change. At age 40, the mother of two teenage sons, Barbara went back to school. She received a Master Degree from University of North Texas, and began her career as a Psychotherapist who specialized in working with individuals living with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Barbara is quoted as saying "Even if I end up in wheelchair, I will be able to work and help other people in situations similar mine". Barbara had been a board member of the Arthritis Foundation of Dallas, the SPCA of Texas, and a long time member of the Dallas Woman's club. She donated her physical remains to UT Southwestern Medical School. A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Monday, June 18th 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Rd., Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of Dallas, the SPCA of Texas or the charity of your choice.

Barbara touched my life as a therapist, mother figure and dear friend. Sad to hear of her passing, but glad to know she lives on free from disease. Although none of you know me I send love and prayers to her sons and mother.
