Meyer, Barbara Spreuer was born August 22nd, 1929 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and joined her husband Fred, son Brad, and beloved dog Maggie in heaven on April 8, 2013. She grew up in Indiana, earned a college degree from Indiana University, and worked as Personnel Director for a major grocery store chain for several years. Barbara was the consummate woman behind the man - the devoted wife of Frederick R. Meyer - loving and supporting him for 57 years. She held down the home front as they moved from Ft. Wayne to El Paso to Cambridge to Nashville and finally to Dallas in 1967. Fred loved her dearly and was extremely proud of her ability to efficiently manage the house and children, as well as pursue her creative talent for woodcraft. Her family will fondly remember the many vacations and holidays spent with her at the Galveston beach house. Her daughters, Cheri and Amy, and her five grandchildren, Justin and Brandon Bouldin, Scott and Kelsey Barrentine and Kristen Meyer, and two great-grandsons, Xavier and Alexander Bouldin will miss the Christmas holidays spent in the Meyer home. Services will be held at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church at 12330 Preston Road (corner of Preston and Walnut Hill, Dallas, TX) on April 20, 2013 at 11:00am. A reception at the church will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you make a donation to the
