ALLEN,, BESSIE MARY ALSWORTH Age 93, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2006 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Richmond Mclnnis and Ora Connell Miller Alsworth and by her husband of 57-years Herschel Thomas "Tommy" Allen. Born in Brownwood, Texas April 19, 1913, Bessie was raised in Dallas where she was a 1930 graduate of Sunset High School and later attended North Texas Agricultural College (UTA). An active member of Oak Cliff Christian Church for over 65-years, she moved her membership to Northway Christian Church when she and Tommy moved to Presbyterian Village North in 1990. Bessie was very faithful to her many church activities and enjoyed her family & friends, travel, oil painting and genealogy. She was a member of the James Campbell Chapter of the D.A.R. She is survived by her three children: son Ben Allen and his wife, Peggy of Plano, daughter Louise Henson and her husband, Gill of Rockwall and by daughter Mary Ann Viola and her husband, Jack of Dallas, by grand children: Drew Allen, Katie Allen, Holly Henson, Sharon and Hal Yoh, Mark and Melanie Crutcher, Paul and Julia Crutcher, Juliet and Jay Kniffen and Jill and Stephen Hockett and by great-grandchildren: Kristen, Catherine, Samantha and Madeline Yoh; Rhys and Natalie Crutcher; Thomas, Caroline and Matthew Crutcher; and Grace and Stephen Hockett. Her brother W.C. "Dub" Miller, sisters Louise Munroe and Ora Menefee and special friends Jean Lacey and Sherry Buchanan, all of Dallas, also survive her. Reverend Jack Arrington and Dr. C.
