Everett, M.D., Charles R. Of Garland, TX. Passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013. Born to Lucy and Richard Everett of North Canton, OH on March 8, 1932. Graduated from North Canton H.S., 1950. Following high school, he graduated from Mount Union College, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. While at Mount Union, he met Mary Jane Sheedy and they married in Columbus, OH in 1956. He attended Ohio State University College of Medicine and received his M.D. Degree. Dr. Everett served his internship, residency, and fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He moved to Garland in 1962, where he practiced internal medicine at Speegle Clinic and Hospital. Dr. Everett was the first internal medicine physician and cardiologist to practice in Garland. He went on to practice at Garland Memorial Hospital, now Baylor Medical Center of Garland. While at Baylor, he served many positions, including Chief of Medicine and Chief of Staff, until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lake Highlands. Known to his friends as "Charlie", he will be remembered for his sporty corvettes, his passion for music, books, and crossword puzzles, his wonderful sense of humor, and his love for his family, his patients, and his dachshunds. Survived by his wife, Mary Jane and their three children: Barbara Everett Janicki and her husband, Mark; Robert "Bob" Everett and his wife, Terri; Catherine Everett Jackson and her husband Jon; grandsons: Charles Janicki, Andrew Janicki, William Janicki, and Richard Janicki. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School, 9643 Ferndale Dr., Dallas, TX 75238 or to the Dallas SPCA. A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9643 Ferndale Dr., Dallas, TX.
