Kemp, Sr., Donald Gene Born July 24, 1929, a lifelong resident of Dallas, Texas passed away on October 8, 2012. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Texas A&M University. Don proudly served his country during the Korean conflict. He was predeceased by his first wife of 25 years, Rita Maria Michalski. There were six children by this union, Donna Lewis Block, Donald Kemp Jr., Monica Kemp Guidry, Valorie Trimble, Alice Dodson and Shannon Kemp. Don married Jane Prejean in 1979. There are three step-daughters, Janae Hawkins, Marsha Prejean and Ranada Prejean. Don was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He owned Kemp Sheet Metal Works and worked there for over 70 years. He was an active member of Saint Bernards Catholic Church and most recently Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Don was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 799 and the International Order of Alhambra. A Rosary and memorial service will be Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. In his memory, donations may be made to the Saint Thomas Aquinas Endowment Trust Fund at 6306 Kenwood Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75214 or the Notre Dame School of Dallas at 2018 Allen Street, Dallas, Texas 75204.
