Archer, Doris Doris Archer, 74, died with her loved ones at her side on March 15, 2012. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 25 at 3:00 PM at the Farmers Branch Historical Park Church. Doris was born August 7, 1937 in Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Furman Lee and Clara Etta Archer and her siblings Pearline Belew, Donna Sue Archer, and Furman Allen Archer. Doris is survived by her three sisters, Anna Lee Calvin, Delois Draper, Pamela Archer, and brother-in-law Obie Joe Draper along with numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. Doris graduated from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, Texas and became an x-ray technician at St. Paul Hospital. She went on to receive a BBA from Texas Women's University and a Masters Degree in Education from Midwestern University. She moved to Wichita Falls and began teaching elementary and junior high school students. In 1986, she moved to Lewisville and continued teaching until she retired in 1993, following a successful career in education. Doris continually volunteered and provided loving support for many friends and family members. Doris loved to garden, bake, and spend time with loved ones and her cats, turtles and other animals that adopted her home as theirs. She will be truly remembered for her love of life, her warmth, her humor and her ability to make everyone feel special.
