Stanley, Douglas,Jr. Was born January 2nd , 1940 in Houston, Texas passed away peace- fully on November 6th , 2008 with his family by his side. Doug leaves behind beloved wife of 48 years Barbara Stanley. He was lo- ving father to Yvonne (Kenny) Franks, Timothy Douglas (daughter-in-law Melissa) Stanley and Tammy Jo (Alissa) Stanley. Proud grandfather of Kelly Brody, Katie Franks, T.J. Stanley and Ella Magrum-Stanley, great grandfa- ther to Bryce Brody and loving brother of Joyce Mae (Bill) Graham whose hearts are grieving and will miss him greatly. He also leaves behind his loving cousin Charles Ray Allred and brothers Edward and Curtis Allred and ma- ny other family members in the Houston area. He also leaves be- hind many family members in the Houston area. Doug was preceded in death by father Douglas Stanley Sr. and mother Nettie Mae Stanley. Doug began his career as a car dealer in Houston in the early 1960's where he has many loving friends and business associates. In 1983 he and his family came to DeSoto to establish a Ford dealer- ship. As owner of Doug Stanley Ford in DeSoto, he was a success- ful businessman whose generosity touched the surrounding commu- nity in many ways, giving of his time and resources to support ma- ny community and charitable e- vents, supported by his son Tim, as his General Manager, his wife Barbara and his daughter Tammy who created and supported the website and internet connections for Doug Stanley Ford from her graphic design studio in Austin. He was respected and admired by his employees, members of his community and his numerous business associates. Doug was re- cently recognized as one of few fa- mily owned Ford dealerships to cel- ebrate 25 years of serving the com- munity. His everyday presence at the dealership and in the commu- nity will be missed by many friends, employees, customers, as- sociates and acquaintances. The fa- mily will receive friends at the fu- neral home from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Windsor Park Baptist Church, 750 W. Pleasant Run Rd. @ Cockrell Hill Rd., DeSoto with Dr. Chris Seidlitz officiating. Interment will follow on Thursday at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston, TX. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the , 4100 Alpha Rd., Dallas, TX. 75244, a cause he supported.
