Allstadt, Evelyn Holdway 93, passed away peacefully Monday, December 23rd, 2013 at her home in Dallas Texas. She was born on February 16th, 1920, in Newport, Tennessee, and raised in Bybee, Tennessee. She is survived by her sister, Georgia Peet, who resides in Florida. She is preceded by her husband, Ira C. Allstadt Jr. and her six siblings. Evelyn moved to Memphis where she met her husband Ira, and they relocated to Dallas Texas in 1947. An accomplished restaurateur and avid stock market investor, she owned the well-known Hungry Jockey Restaurant at Preston Forest Square for 13 years. After that, she and her daughter-in-law, Claire Allstadt, owned Café Òclair in Plano. Survivors include her sons, Ira C. Allstadt III, John Holdway Allstadt, daughter Merri Evelyn Chester and husband Mark Chester, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mom will be missed greatly by all.
