Vavrik, Frank Victor Frank Victor Vavrik, beloved Pappa, 91, passed away January 15, 2014, at home in Plano, Tx. Frank grew up in Chicago, the youngest of 6 children. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II specializing in communications/ radar. He married Bernice Olszowy in 1947. They had 3 children. Frank transferred from Chicago to Dallas in 1970 to open the Western Electric plant in Mesquite. After his retirement from WE, he worked for Texas Stadium Services at the Irving stadium until his favorite Dallas Cowboys moved to Arlington. Frank coached YMCA football, baseball and soccer and was very active in the Circle 10 Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He volunteered with the Telephone Pioneers of America and Love for Kids. Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Bernice Vavrik and his daughter, Constance York. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Roger Partridge of Plano, Tx, son and daughter in law Robert and Lucy Vavrik of Rockwall, Tx, grandsons Jerod and his wife, Jaime Anderson of Richardson, Colin Vavrik, grand-daughters Devon Anderson and Kaitlin Vavrik, great-granddaugh-ter, Jayden Anderson, sister- in- law Leona Rufo of Philadelphia, PA. and many nieces and nephews. Frank's legacy continues as he has donated his body to the UTSW Medical School. His final resting place will be with Bernice at the Calvary Hill Mausoleum in Dallas.
