Bramlett, James Carlton James Carlton Bramlett was born on October 19, 1944 at Dallas' Florence Nightingale Hospital and peacefully died in his Dallas home on Saturday, December 28, 2012. James' grandfather, William Henry, moved to Dallas during the Great Depression to build Buckners Children's Home. His father, S. H. Bramlett, followed in the family business founding Bramlett Construction and mentored his son in the art of contracting. James lettered in golf at Bryan Adams High School and then attended Texas A&M University completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Construction. After college he went to work for Robert E. McKee Inc. and later joined McJunkin Construction, married Janet Price and had two children. In 1974 James went out on his own to build Bramcon General Contracting and many well known landmarks along the North Dallas Tollway. He is preceded in death by his mother Elaine Loper Bramlett and his father Syl Henry Bramlett. He is survived by his daughter Cheli and her husband Jerod Hunt, son Mark and his wife Kelly, his six grandchildren Taylor Brown, Gracyn Hunt, Hudson Hunt, Ana Lei Bramlett, Blake Carlton Bramlett, Kate Ryan Bramlett and great grandchild Creed Henry Brown. Known as "Podz" to his friends, James will be remembered for the great joy he took in life, dancing like no one was watching, a money one-handed golf putt and more one-liners than a leopard has spots. His passion for hunting and fishing propelled him around the globe in pursuit of fresh game to share with friends. He was happiest when surrounded by the love of his family, his podz's and his prized Brittany Spaniels; Governor, Senator Sam, Mary Lucille and Princess Diana. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Services will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scottsdale Charro Foundation www.charrofoundation.org
