James Keeling Obituary

Keeling, James William Died on March 17, 2011 peacefully at home in Flower Mound, Texas. He was born in Abilene, TX October 25, 1930, to Jason and Ellen Keeling. Jim attended school in New London, TX and later graduated from Texas A&M University as a member of the Corp of Cadets. He served eight years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Bitburg, Germany. There he met and married his wife of 54 years, Barbara Foster. He moved his family to Dallas in 1966 where he continued his love of flying as a pilot for various private enterprises. He was one of the first pilots hired by Federal Express and retired from there after 28 years. Jim was very dedicated to his family and especially enjoyed attending all activities involving his eight grandkids. He was an active volunteer at St. Luke's Episcopal of Dallas and St. Nicholas of Flower Mound. He was always available to help and always there for those in need. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his son Jim, Jr., daughter Kathy May and her husband Sean, and son, Mike and his wife, Irene and grandchildren, Jason, Shawn, Christopher, Tiffany, Erin, Ryan, Patrick and Logan. He is also survived by his siblings, Margaret Page, Joan McConnell, Barbara Smart, Pat Keeling and Jackie Keeling. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Keeling and sister, Mary Francis Tigert. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Sunday, March 20, 2011 at St. Nicholas Church in Flower Mound, 4800 Wichita Trail. Instead of flowers, please make donations to American Cancer Society or the New London Scholarship Fund.

MAY THE GRACE OF GOD BE YOUR STRENGTH AS A NEW CHAPTER BEGANS IN JIM'S LIFE. I KNEW JIM IN LONDON SCHOOL AND A & M. I HAVE ONLY GOOD MEMORIES OF MY FRIENDSHIP WITH HIM.
