Stephenson, James (Jim) Lucas Jr. James Lucas (Jim) Stephenson, Jr., surrounded by his family, died peacefully on March 24, 2012. Jim was a sixth generation Dallasite who descended from the pioneer Cole and Lucas families. Born on April 17, 1937, he graduated from Hillcrest High School. Afterwards, Jim attended SMU where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Jim also served in the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas National Guard. Whether it was hunting, fishing, scuba diving, horseback riding or travelling the world, Jim lived up to his life motto "Anything worth doing is worth overdoing." We will never forget the twinkle in his eyes or his laugh. He was an active member of his church and a former member of the Salesmanship Club. Jim also served on many Dallas civic and community boards. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy Wyatt and James L. (Luke) Stephenson, Sr. Jim is survived by James L. (Jamie) Stephenson, III, Lucy and Mark Smith and his beloved grandchildren William, Nancy and Talmage Smith. Jim leaves behind Frankie and Nancy Ortiz, Séverine Stephenson, his dear aunt Peggy Wyatt Payne and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jim's life will be held with a Memorial Service on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Afterwards, the family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
