Perigo, Jimmye Dean (Lay) Jimmye Dean (Lay)Perigo, 77 of Lancaster, Texas passed away March 24, 2012. She was born July 3, 1934 in San Angelo, Texas to Samuel H. C. and Mary Jane (Wilson) Lay. Jimmye was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Perigo and her sisters Charlotte Dendy and Marjorie Lay. She is survived by: her daughters Pat Perigo of Phoenix, AZ and Cindy Davis & husband Jim of Oak Leaf, TX; First Cousins: Janell (Lay) Morse of Albuquerque, NM ; Jane Anne (Ricker) Voris of Llano, TX; James Ricker of Abilene, TX; Grandson Adam Davis & wife Clydia; Great Grandsons: Markkus and Justin; Great Granddaughter EeLaina; Nephews: Kirb Dendy & wife Donna, John Etchieson, and Tony Perigo; Great Niece Andrea DeLaCruz & husband Simon; Great Nephew Travis Dendy & wife Amy; and Great Great Nephew Kayden Dendy. A graduate of Dublin High School in the class of 1951, Jimmye, started work the day after graduation for Southwestern Bell, to help her parents send her sister, Marge, to College @ Tarleton University, then UT Austin & Baylor Medical School. She moved to Dallas & continued working where she met Bob & later married in 1955. Upon the youngest child's college graduation, Jimmye decided to attend college to study art. She was our best friend, Mother, Aunt, Grandma, first art teacher, and the primary caregiver to all the elders in our extended family ensuring they had quality of life with dignity & compassion. Jimmye Lay Perigo had several exhibitions of her work & publications of her art: '92 she received The Cecil Wallace Fordham Award in Visual Arts, Dallas County Community College Dist. Foundation; '94 Participated in Print Exhibition, Gallery 93, Dallas TX.; '95 Photography Competition Collin County Community College, McKinney, TX ;'96 Print on Print, Cedar Valley College Lancaster, TX, Appeared in Photographer's Forum Magazine : Best of College Photography Annual from '93-'99, Solo exhibition @ The Lurie Company Presents; Jimmye Lay Perigo & Art with Elders @ the 901 Market St. Gallery, San Francisco Ca.; 14th Annual Art in the Metroplex, JM Moody gallery @TCU, Ft. Worth, TX.; New Texas Talent 1997 Craighead - Green Gallery, Dallas, TX.; 2000 had work in An Evening in Artober,& Was part of the Group Exhibition: Dallas Perspectives on Art & Religion @ the Dallas Museum of Art.
