Horn, John A. ME Denton: John A. Horn, ME, of Montague (formerly of Denton), passed away June 18, 2013. John was born February 25, 1938 in Dallas, TX. John graduated from North Dallas High School and Arlington State University (now UT Arlington) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. John was also a Master Plumber and a Journeyman Steamfitter who taught for years in the union trade school in Dallas. John completed advanced educational programs at Texas A&M and Purdue University. After working for several construction companies in Dallas, Houston, and Arkansas, John founded John Horn Company, Mechanical Contractors, in Denton. The company completed projects for the Denton, Lake Dallas, and Dallas ISD's, UNT, TWU, Denton State School, and commercial buildings in Dallas. John was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Edwards Horn of Denton, and earlier this year he lost his father, Joseph E. Horn, of Denton. He is survived by his brother Joe Horn of Coppell, his brother former State Representative Jim Horn and sister-in-law Denton County Judge Mary Horn of Sanger, seven nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, June 21, 2013 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Denton with the service to follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
