Luis Zambrano Mora Obituary
Zambrano Mora, Luis Guillermo Luis Guillermo Zambrano Mora, youngest son of Teodulo and Lastenia Zambrano passed away on December 23, 2012, at the age of 69, at his home in Carrollton, Texas. He was surrounded by his family. Luis was born on the 16th of November 1943 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. All of life's hardships, only served to make him a stronger, more principled and more compassionate human being. He obtained a degree in Petroleum Engineering and Geology at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) in Guayaquil, Ecuador where he eventually became a professor. He later went to the United States of America to obtain a higher degree in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he met the love of his life and his wife of 43 years, Marilyn Sue Zambrano. With his wife, he lived in Ecuador and subsequently in the United States, where he raised a family of four boys. In his long and storied career, he worked in locations and for petroleum companies throughout the world, was involved in the development of numerous exploration patents, and even a short time before his death, continued to work. During his life, Luis dedicated himself to principles of hard work, perseverance, integrity and honor. He believed very strongly in the importance of family and would stop at nothing to provide for his wife, sons and grandchildren. Luis is survived by his wife, Sue, four sons and their spouses, Luis (Angela), Andres, Michael (Laurie) and David, four grandchildren, Olivia, Audrey, Bennett and Gabriel, and a host of other family members in Ecuador and the United States. He will be sorely missed. In honor of Luis, services will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Coppell, Texas on Friday, December 28th at 10:00 am. A wake will be held at the Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, December 27th at 6:00 pm. Please visit www.sparkman-hillcrest.com for online condolences.
