Dear Marsha~
I was so saddened to hear of Mary Lou's passing. I have a wonderful memory of her taking us one night in her Cosmopolitan when we were in 9th grade at Gottschalk. The top down and sitting on the back, we thought we were so grown-up. She made it a night for the memory book.

My husband and I recently took a couple golf lessons from Mary Lou. She was a talented and wise teacher who quickly analyzed your swing and came up with realistic ways to improve. Her passion for golf and her generosity of spirit were obvious. We wish we had met her many years ago but are grateful for the little time we knew her.

We know you are up there teaching all those people that never made time in their busy lives to learn the sport now that they have an eternity in paradise to relax and play a few rounds of golf. I am so proud to have your legacy to share with my daughter and the rest of my Girl Scouts that girls are just as valuable and can do anything and be anything they want to be. Thank you for paving the way for the rest of us. We will never forget you, Great Aunt Mary Lou!

Mary Lou was a wonderful friend. Each person she spent time with felt that she was special, and she made each person feel special as well. She frequently spent 2 hours on an hour golf lesson... Until she felt you had it right... She was an amazing person who will be missed by all of her friends in Dallas and in the wider world of women's golf. God bless her and keep her safe!

I knew Mary Lou when the Daniel family lived next door to us in Washington Park Apartments in Louisville. She was a couple of years older than I and I really looked up to her. So sorry to hear this news.

I knew Mary Lou as a neighbor to her parents. She was so generous and loving to her family. On her own birthday, she sent Roses to her Mother. What a loving expression for Hazel.

I knew Mary Lou from Iroquois Golf Course when my dad Eddie Tyree was the pro there. I am saddened to hear of her passing. She was inducted to the Ky Golf Hall of Fame the same year as my dad. I will always remember the round of golf we played at Iroquois. RIP Friend.

To the Family,
I met Mary Lou two years ago at Clearview Golf Club, Canton, OH during a women's golf weekend. Know that she was a kind and beautiful person with a fun sense of humor. Peace, love and comfort to you.

I caddied for Mary Lou in 1979, and thought positive of her all these years. Wish we had kept touch, but thought of her just a couple weeks ago. Too young to die, but left many good memories.
