Montoya, Jr., Michael Thomas Irving, TX - Michael was born in Shreveport, LA on March 30, 1989. He went to be with his Lord on June 7, 2013, of an enlarged heart. Michael is survived by his parents, Michael Thomas Montoya, Sr. and Sherry Cloutier Montoya, of Irving, TX; and numerous other grieving relatives and friends. Michael was an Eagle Scout. He attended Cistercian Prep School where he was valedictorian of his class, a National Merit Finalist, National AP Scholar. He lettered in Football and Track. Michael was a Presidential Scholar and received his medal on stage at the Kennedy Center and was honored by President George W. Bush at the White House. He was one of 12 Presidential Scholars to be selected to represent the USA on a foreign exchange trip to China. He was awarded a full Reynolds Scholarship to Wake Forest University. He was in Sigma Nu Fraternity, and Alpha Epsilon Delta, the Pre Medical Honor Society but returned to Mathematics, his first love. He graduated from Wake Forest in 2011, Magna Cum Laude, with Honors in Math and winning the John Y. Phillips prize in Mathematics. Michael then attended Wake Forest Graduate School of Math.
