BARKER, , MIRIAM ELIZABETH "MIMI" KUEHNE 92, of Austin, formerly of Dallas, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007. She was born October 17, 1914 to Henry and Myrtle Pansy Alexander Kuehne in Walburg, Texas. She grew up in Coupland. On June 2, 1940, she married Ralph Ashton Barker of Taylor and Coupland. She attended UT in Austin, Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas, and obtained her Master's degree from SMU. She taught at the School for the Blind in Austin and taught for more than 35 years in Dallas I.S.D. elementary schools. She is survived by her son Jonathan Barker and his wife Karen of Taylor, granddaughter Carrie Elizabeth Barker of Mesa, Arizona, sister Rhoda Beatrice "Fritzi" Lannen and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, sisters Margaret Youngquist and Gertrude Barden, brother Henry Kuehne, Jr. and grandson Richard Ashton Barker. Memorials may be made to first United Methodist Church of Dallas where she was an active member for many years. ( 1928 Ross Ave., Dallas, TX 75201 ) Services will be held Friday, January 26, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. Peter's Church in Coupland, Texas, officiated by Rev. John Sumner.
