Paul graduated from Lancaster High School in 1945 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, class of 1949. Paul's years at A&M were among the most memorable of his life. He was a Lt. Col. in "E" Flight and served on the Battalion Staff, Commentator Staff and Corps Staff. Paul was very proud to be an Aggie. After college he worked at Hart Furniture Co. in Dallas and The Dallas Morning News before opening his own advertising and marketing firm, Paul Berry Co., in 1951. His advertising career spaned forty years, during which time he was voted Dallas Advertising Man of the Year. In the late 1980's Paul retired from his advertising career and devoted his time to farming and ranching, raising Brangus cattle on his family farm. Paul Berry was a proud father and grandfather, a successful businessman, a loyal friend. He was passionate about his animals and the land. He was generous, always willing to help anyone in need. He passed gently into that good night after a lenghty battle with lung and kidney disease. Paul is surived by his wife of 27 years, Gloria Berry; his children, Paul Berry, III and wife Cathy; daughter Cathy Jones and husband, Larry; former wife and Mother of his children, Barbara Berry; and his step-daughter, Lisa Thompson Self. Paul has been blessed with four grandchildren, Paul Berry IV and wife Kelcie; Brandi Berry; Alan Hall and his wife, Jessica; and Kelly Hall; step grandson, Cody Self; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Hall and Brayden Hall; his sister, Frances Mitchell and husband Bill; nephew Edwin Mitchell, wife Marion and family; niece Mitzi Framel, husband Steve and family; cousin, Colleen McCollum. He leaves his special long time friends, Jeanne Wilson and Jane Shearon, who became devoted caregivers. He touched many lives with an irresistible charm and genuine compassion. We are blessed to have had him in our lives. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014, at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. First Street, Lancaster, TX 75146.
