Dr. Philip Michael Sampeck

Sampeck, Philip Michael Dr. Philip Michael Sampeck passed away on January 23, 2012, the beloved son of Dr. Adrian Joseph and Dr. Kathryne Burrough-Sampeck of Dallas, Texas. He was born on July 17, 1945, at Pyote Air Field, Rattlesnake Bomber Base, Pyote, Texas. As a child, Philip lived in a number of places: Lincoln, Nebraska; Laramie, Wyoming; Atlanta, Georgia; Tyler, Texas; and Dallas, Texas. Philip graduated from Jesuit High School in Dallas. At Notre Dame University, he received a Bachelor's of Science. Philip earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the Dental School at the University of Tennessee. Philip practiced endodontics with his father in Dallas for ten years. For his endodontic specialty, Philip trained with leading experts at Boston University Medical School and earned a Master's of Science degree. He opened his own practice in Beaumont, Texas, skillfully treating many patients for thirty more years. Lovingly married to Judith Sampeck for twenty-nine years, Philip was a devoted husband and father. One of Phil's favorite pastimes was fishing, and he shared his zeal for the sport of salt-water fishing with his family. Many friends and family members live on to celebrate his life, including his wife, Judith, and three children, Blake, Kelley Sampeck, and Tracey White Westbrook. Philip deeply loved Tracey's two children, Andrew and Allison. His parents, Adrian and Kathryne, ache for the loss of their son, yet rejoice that he enriched their lives in so many ways. Philip is held in loving memory by seven siblings: Vicki Lynn Sampeck, Carole Marie Sampeck, Paul Andrew, Patrick A., Timothy M., Daniel C., and Kathryn Elizabeth Sampeck. He is also survived by his cousin Mike Sampeck. While all who knew and loved Phil grieve his passing, the family asks that everyone celebrate his life, his passion for his profession, and his love for his family. Philip donated his body to Southwestern Medical School for medical research with the hope that untold numbers will have a future of better health.
