Raye Lyn Musgrave Fischl was born on April 30, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to Albert W. Musgrave and Maxine Rose Musgrave. In 1976, she graduated from Hillcrest High School, where she enjoyed 4 years in the band and National Honor Society. She followed in her father's footsteps and graduated with a B.A. in Geophysics from Colorado School of Mines. Raye married Hans Fischl on May 15, 1982. Raye worked for Mobil Oil in Denver and Dallas. She continued her career with Apache Oil starting in Dec. 1991 until March 2012. Raye and her family have lived in Katy, Texas since 1992. She enjoyed travel, hiking, and working with Girl Scouts. Her card stamping reached out to many. In recent years, she became an avid kayaker. Raye's family has always been proud of her, but they are especially proud of the way she confronted the last year by living it up to the fullest, making lasting memories for her beloved husband, Hans, and children, Melanie and Travis. Her wit and sunny outlook will be missed by all who loved her. Raye passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Raye is survived by her husband, Hans; daughter, Melanie; son, Travis; mother, Maxine Musgrave; siblings, Real, Rose, and Ruth; honorary sister, Muff and honorary brother, Ben, and their families. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the St. Peter's United Methodist Church, in Katy, with Rev. Kim Meyers officiating.
