Jones, Dr. Sam P. Sam Price Jones was born March 1, 1922 in Versailles, Missouri to Price Jones and Margaret Maddox. He passed away peacefully on March 14, 2013. He attended Central Missouri State College and then served in the 36th Infantry during World War II, where he was wounded in battle helping to liberate France. He received the Purple Heart, the Infantry Combat Badge and the Bronze Star and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1944. Jones attended Kansas City College of Medicine and graduated in 1950. After moving to Dallas, TX in 1951, he practiced in the White Rock Lake area until 2009. He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lura Spearman Jones; son Dr. Tom N. Jones and his wife Martha Jones; daughter Sally Jones Redmond and her husband Michael Redmond; sister Lucy Maunders; grandchildren Julia Jones, Andrew Jones, Paul Redmond, Lisa Redmond and great-grandchild Anastasia Redmond. Private services to be held at a later date.
