Sarah Elizabeth Hopkins Obituary
Hopkins, Sarah Elizabeth Sarah Elizabeth Hopkins, born 9/13/1991 died suddenly and unexpectedly 3/13/2013. She was a shiny shooting star flittering across the universe spreading humor, friendship and beauty along her path. She was a younger sister who certainly didn't get ignored. She and Lauren were a well-practiced team and a great study in contrasts. They both had their own roles to play and knew them well. Sarah herself was an original twist on a well-known idiom...scrolling through her Facebook photos proves she always had a clever twist of words on the expected phrase. She took great delight in simple things of life like taking pictures of two of her favorite subjects: Herself and Kitty. Speaking of Kitty, she loved her passionately. Most conversations involved references to Kitty's latest antics and how Sarah would love to own all the cats in the world. She took her job, her photography, her studies and her cats seriously but she never took herself too seriously. She was a collector of friends, humor, and beautiful images, and therefore she also collected beautiful and humorous images of her friends. Sarah had definite opinions and she always spoke her mind. If she didn't like something, you knew it...but you ALWAYS knew that she liked you. She spread encouragement, charm and sunshine everywhere she went in her budding life that was far too short. Imagine how much better this world would be if all who knew her took that encouragement, charm and Sunshine and picked up where she left off. Sarah leaves behind a different world to those who knew her including a huge contingent of friends, co-workers and family. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jimmie Ray Hopkins, her grandmother, Elizabeth Foree Lee, her father Ronald Ray Hopkins and is survived by her grandfather, Jim Flickinger, grandmother Gay Hopkins, her beloved mother, AnnElise Flickinger Hopkins Bennett, her favorite stepdad, Robert Dean (Bobby) Bennett, The World's Best Big Sister, Lauren Elise Hopkins McGee and Awesome Husband Anthony McGee. Brother Kevin Hopkins, nephew Rowdy Hopkins and niece Emily Hopkins, aunts, uncles and a plethora of cousins. Trevor Ross Connolly reigns supreme as The Best Boyfriend Ever. German sister Rebecca Pabst, lifelong buds Abby Raiford, Cheyenne Gillespie Morrison and Valerie Marun, and more recent bestie roommates Brittany Stephens and Lauren Macharoni plus a host of other SFAers who will forever be charged with Sarah's Light to carry on. Sarah will be especially missed by her Kitty and her Wee Mannie. Graveside service will be held Saturday March 16 at 11 a.m at Roselawn Funerel Home in seagoville . A Memorial/Celebration Of Life service will be held immediately following at 9600 Prairie Chapel Road, Crandall, TX 75114. Dress code: HAPPY. Donations may be made in the name of AnnElise Bennett for the Sarah Hopkins Memorial Photography Scholarship Fund, at any American National Bank location or mailed to P.O. Box 428, 1023 W. Hwy. 175, Crandall, TX 75114.
