My prayers and heartfelt sympathy go out to all of Steve's family, friends and loved ones. I have been fortunate to work closely for many years with Steve both in the past as an associate manager in Network Operations at SBC/Southwestern Bell and most recently in a new role supporting Department of Homeland Security initiatives in Texas for AT&T. I will always remember and admire Steve's keen intellect, out-of-the box approach to achieving success and his sincere compassion for all.

While working in the Test Center at Southwestern Bell, I had the great honor of having Stephen as my boss. He was one of the best manager's that I ever had. When my wife had breast cancer, he was very concerned with her health and demonstrated it by allowing me time off to attend to my family's needs and even sent flowers to her while in the hospital. He was a real gentleman. I extend my sincerest sympathies to his family in their tragic loss.
