Wilson, William H. Born the 14th of July, 1923 and passed away peacefully the 24th of January, 2013 at home with family by his side after a valiant battle with melanoma cancer. Bill was raised in Buffalo, NY, attended Choate Prep School and graduated from Williams College. He served as a B24 co-pilot for the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. Bill was a devoted husband survived by his wife, Karin, of 44 years. He loved his family, sailing, golfing, traveling, fine food, and playing gin rummy with his golfing buddies. Bill will be remembered as a gentleman that was humble, kind and always respectful of others. He came to Dallas in 1969 to take over the Dallas office of Manpower, one of the world's largest temporary staffing firms. Upon his arrival, Bill grew the DFW operation into the highest grossing company-owned office, generating more than $110 million annually by the time he retired in 2000 at the age of 77. During his career with Manpower, he served as the President of the local chapter of the American Management Association (AMA) and contributed to many charitable organizations. Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Laura Wilson, and twin brothers, Jim and Joe. He is survived by his children, Bill, Jeffrey, Chris and Tanya, as well as his nephew, Jeffrey, three grandchildren, Avery, Peyton and Siena, and numerous nephews and nieces. The Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 3 pm at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation (www.melanoma.org) on behalf of William H. Wilson.
