Barnett, Maxine Preston joined Our Father in Heaven in the early morning on Friday August 20, 2010, at home alongside her loving family, in Dallas, Texas. Maxine was born in Electra, Texas July 25, 1926 to Edna and Tom Preston (deceased). She graduated from Quanah High School and attended Texas Tech University. She was a dedicated 60-year member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. She was the loving wife to Charles A. Barnett, Jr., celebrating their 60th anniversary on August 11, 2010. She committed her life to Christ, her husband and the raising of her 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her incredible heart, service and the example she set for all. She was preceded in death by an older sister, Julienne Epps. She is survived by her husband, Charles Barnett, Jr.; children, Tommy Lockhart and Elaine, Charles Barnett III and Janie, Dave Barnett and Ashlynn, James Barnett and Toni, and Rebecca Barnett Shewchuk and Dwight; grandchildren, Leslie, Tal, Charlie, Travis, Danielle, Cheyenne, Jennifer, Jeff, James, Jennifer, Elizabeth, John, and Charles; great-grandchildren, Fisher, Hagan, Jon, Whitney, and Ethan; sisters, Leta Johnston, Peggy Pressley and Trezzie; and brother, Jack Preston and Ouidon. A Memorial service will be held Monday, August 23 2010 at 2:00 pm at Park Cities Baptist Church in Ellis Chapel, 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas, TX 75225.
