Hult, Barbara L. Barbara L. Hult, last member of the Edward V. Roderick and Hylah Ruth family of Villa Grove, Illinois, passed away on December 1, 2011. Preceding her was her sister, Jenelle Kigdon, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Barbara's brothers Edward "Bud" Roderick of Champaign, Ill., Byron M. Roderick of Jackson, Ms. and Earl Richard Roderick of Dickson, Tn. Barbara spent most of her young life in Champaign, Illinois where all her formal education took place. She move from Champaign after World War II to the San Francisco Bay Area where she married Joe Mitchell of Champaign, Illinois. Beloved daughter, Debra Mitchell, of Chicago, Illinois was their only child. Having spent years in Alameda, Ca., Long Beach, Ca. and Palo Alto, Ca. Mr. Mitchell was transferred to Des Moines, Iowa and then to Kansas, City, Mo. Barbara was divorced and re-married in Kansas City, Mo. to Lloyd L. Hult and moved to Dallas, Texas in the early part of the seventies. They loved Texas, especially "Big D". After Lloyd's death in 1988, Barbara retired from her job of 30 years with a large corporation and spent at least 10 years with Dallas Historical Society teaching 4th graders about the "Hall of State" and Texas history. Barbara leaves behind her beloved daughter Debra Lee Mitchell, Chicago, Illinois; Cindy Wood, San Diego, Ca. and Steve Hult, Ft. Worth, Tx; grandchildren Brandon Manbeck, Southlake, Tx, Trent Manbeck, San Diego, Ca. and Trisha Manbeck, San Diego, Ca. In lieu of flowers and cards Barbara's requested that you send the flowers and cards to a family member or friend and tell them "HOW SPECIAL THEY ARE" and sign her name and tell each of them of her "Special Request". God Bless to All! The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 5th at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. Graveside service will be private.
