Abreu, Zoila H. Zoila H. Abreu 89, passed away September 6, 2013. She was born on September 19, 1923 in Havana Cuba to Modesto Hevia and Zoila Romero Hevia. A 1946 graduate of the University of Havana Law School. She married Rene Abreu in 1947. Zoila and her family came to the United States in 1961, where she became a social worker, serving 25 years with Catholic Charities of Dallas. Zoila was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Rene Abreu, Jr. and brother, Modesto Hevia. She is survived by her son, Jorge Abreu and wife, Janet; granddaughters, Amelia Abreu and husband, Nathaniel Friedman, Clare Abreu and Jean Abreu; great granddaughter, Letty Friedman-Abreu; nieces, Gloria Gross and Connie Cuello; nephews, Modesto Hevia and Jess Hevia. Memorial Rosary will be held at 6:30 pm Friday, September 13, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel. Inurnment at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
