Cason, Glenna Christene "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 Our Honey, Glenna Christene Cason, of Dallas, TX, was united with her Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014. Mom was born on May, 4 1933 in Dallas Texas to her parents, Douglas and Ava Duncan. Many of mom's traits came from growing up in the depression era. Glenna was the 1st of 2 children. She was a 1950 graduate of Adamson High School. Glenna married Kenneth Doyle Cason on July 23, 1949. They were married for 47 years at the time of his death. They had three children Kenny, Caron and Caty. Caron died suddenly in 1966 at age 12 and Kenny died from a battle with cancer in 2001, at age of 51. These deaths broke my mother's heart; however her survivor traits and her faith through the Methodist Church sustained her. Mom once told me that her United Methodist Women's pin was her most precious possession which she buried with my sister. Both mom and dad worked numerous jobs at a time to support their children in their early married years. From age 3 until her late 20's mom modeled children and adult clothing and swimsuits. Mom also modeled for several years on the runways of the automobile building at the State Fair of Texas. During this career she met several celebrities and found this to be her favorite career of all. In moms young adult life she worked the counters at the original Dougherty's Drug Store in Oak Cliff. After modeling she worked for a few years as a receptionist at IBM on turtle creek. During the years between the late 60's through the late 70's she also worked the Dallas Trade Mart and the Dallas Apparel Mart. Mom began her real estate career in the mid 70's and obtained her broker's license. She created a very successful real estate career for herself through the early years of 2000. During this time she worked with Henry S. Miller and Ebby Halliday Realtors. Mom was an extensive world traveler including multiple cruises, one world cruise and visits to China, Egypt, Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, Rome, Paris, and other European areas. Mom's last travel destination was to heaven to be reunited with her family. At her request I will spread her ashes in Hawaii. Our family is so thankful that mom had her say about her life until she died. Mother died quickly from a fatal heart attack. Honey is survived by her Daughter Caty Judd and Spouse Kevin, Granddaughter Christene Morales, Grandson Justin Morales and wife Katy, Grandson Evan Judd, Sister Denica Duncan, Cousin Patsy Caraway, and numerous other family and friends including her kitty cat Matsu and her dog Ginger. Preceeded in death by Spouse Kenneth Cason, Daughter Caron Cason, Son Kenny Cason, Father Douglas Duncan and Mother Ava Duncan. Many thanks to Dr. Jeffery Phillips her long time physician, Vital Point Home Health and her beloved Tanya and also Churchhill Estates staff and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at Sparkman Funeral Home on Sunday, February 16th from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm. Services for Glenna will be at Sparkman Funeral Home on Monday, February 17th at 2:00pm with reception to follow. Sparkman Funeral Home 1029 S Greenville Ave, Richardson, TX 75081
