Thomas Andrew "Tommy" Fowler

Fowler, Thomas Thomas Andrew "Tommy" Fowler, 90, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2014 in Irving, TX. He was born on June 16, 1923 in Fordyce, Arkansas, to Charles and Mellie Fowler. Tommy was a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II. He moved to Dallas in 1960 with Haverty's Furniture Company. In 1962, Tommy opened Fowler's Furniture in Irving and owned other retail furniture stores in the Dallas area, where he worked until 2003. He enjoyed playing golf, was very active in his church and especially cherished spending time with his beloved wife Ruth, whom he married in 1945. She preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by two sons, Tom Fowler, Jr. of Richardson and Ron Fowler and wife Meredith of Coppell; grandson Thomas A. Fowler III "Drew," granddaughters Rebecca Fowler and Emily Fowler. The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and caretakers at Silverado Assisted Living and Silverado Hospice for their compassion and professionalism while caring for our loved one. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation or the . A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home in Irving.
