William Brunt Obituary
Brunt, William Reese William Reese Brunt (Bill, Daddy, Grampa, Gumpy, Papa, Great Grandpa) of Irving, passed away quietly on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life, his wife, Ramona (Chavez) Brunt, whom he met at the USO at his first night in his new assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They married six months later, and were dance partners for the next 67 years. For their children, Sharon Powell and John Kleeschulte, Barbara and Randy Hilliard, Bill and Norma Brunt, Gail Schuchman and the late Tom Schuchman, and Catherine Quattrochi, he was always larger than life and a moral compass, generous with affection and support. He treasured his 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Bill retired from the US Army in 1962 as CWO-4 after 22 years of service, and went on to work for Texas Instruments as an instructor in radar systems, travelling to NATO countries and in the US. He was a marksman, a crossword lover, and long-time bowler. He rests now, reunited with his beloved mother, Mamie Angeline Wagner Brunt, who passed away when Bill was only seven years old. Despite early tragedy, Bill loved his life, and was constantly grateful to the God who watched over him and his family. The Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, February 25 at noon at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving, followed by a brief interment ceremony at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
