Edward Hopkins Merritt Obituary
Merritt, Edward Hopkins Of Dallas, was born January 14, 1930 and passed away March 31, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marjorie Merritt. In 1977 he married Norma Jean Heinlen, a DISD school teacher. He was employed as store manager for Stewart Office Supply and later retired from Asel Art Supply. He was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and enjoyed all aspects of his involvement in the church. He is survived by wife, Norma Jean Merritt; sister-in-law, Etta Heinlen, and his niece and nephew, Holly and Hunter Heinlen of Phoenix, Arizona. He will be remembered as a loving husband and friend to all who knew and loved him. Private burial will be in Ranger Texas. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of C C Young Retirement Center. It is located at 4829 West Lawther Drive on the second floor of the Lawther Point East building. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the or the Parkinson's Voice Project.org. located in Richardson, Texas.
