Dakin, Alice J. Alice Dakin, 76, of Dallas TX, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, TX. Visitation Friday, April 18, 2014 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Funeral service Saturday,April 19, 2014 at 1pm in the Sparkman/Crane Chapel. Alice touched the lives of everyone around her. She left an inheritance of love to all those who knew her. She was born on November 17, 1937 in Granger TX, to the late Ed and Marcella Zrubek. She married Leonard Michael Dakin on July 11, 1964 and remained a faithful wife to him for nearly 50 years. Alice was a member of Redeemer Bible Church in Dallas and made them a second family. Alice worked as an administrative assistant in the insurance industry for many years. She was an amazing and selfless mother of her three children: Roland, Steven, and Kenneth; and their wives: Sherri, Larine, and Kerri. She will be remembered fondly by all her grandchildren as well; Mackenzie; Stacia and Breean; Kalyn, Kurt and Kolt. Alice is survived by siblings: Georgie Jarosek of Granger TX; Loretta and Al Konzman of Clifford PA; Bernice Randall of Kingsland TX; Edward and Linda Zrubek & Ben and Nell Zrubek of Austin TX; Mildred Snively of Houston TX; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alice was preceded in death by her sister Rosalie Nemek, brothers-in-law Gordon Snively, Charles Randall, Allen Jarosek and sister-in-law Florence Miller.
