Aldredge, Jeanne Rene Chadbourne Jeanne Rene Chadbourne Aldredge, 92, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Born in Beaumont, Texas on July 23, 1921, Jeanne was the second child of Vaughn Russell and Bertha Baus Chadbourne. She attended St. Anthony's School in Beaumont and won a scholarship to attend Rosemont College near Philadelphia. While studying there, she met her future husband, Dr. George N. Aldredge, Jr., on a blind date. Friends introduced them because they were both from Texas and both loved to dance. They married in 1941. After George completed his service in WWII, they moved to Michigan where he completed his residency and then back to Texas. Together they raised nine children, a fact that she was most proud of in later life. She was an active volunteer all her life. She served on the board of the Catholic Charities of Dallas, was President of the Dallas County Medical Auxiliary, a member of the Dallas Junior League, a member of the Dallas Woman's Club where she became an accomplished tap dancer, President of the Dallas County Heritage Society and several times President of the Mothers' Club at Christ the King School. An avid gardener, she was a member and past-President of the Founders Garden Club and the Junior League Garden Club. She kept a beautiful garden and was a certified flower judge traveling around the country to judge flower shows. She and George loved to ballroom dance and were members of several dance clubs. A devout Catholic, she and George also hosted and participated in many years of religious discussion clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George, survived by two brothers, Dan Chadbourne and John Chadbourne, nine children; daughters Virginia Pellegrini and Anne Terrell Aldredge, sons George, Vaughn and Jamie, Christopher and Cindy, Mark and Laurie, Thom and Trish, John and Leta, Matthew and Alison, twenty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank her long-time caregivers, Belinda Leffall and Letha Valentine. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21st at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home from 4-6pm. The memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22nd at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10:00am. Burial will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
