Miranda, Genevieve Miranda, Genevieve, Born February 7, 1919 in Brashear TX, Died April 29, 2014 in Dallas TX. Gen and her husband Johnny of 66 years owned and operated Johnny Miranda's shoes for men for over 35 years in downtown Dallas. Their first date in 1936 at the Texas Centennial grew into a long and loving life together. Gen was a charter member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and member of Dallas Elks Lodge #71. She was very active at St. Thomas during her children's enrollment and beyond. Gen's life with her husband Johnny was filled with her children, family and friends. Gen and Johnny loved to dance; now they can have the last dance for eternity. Preceded in death by her husband, John E. Miranda, daughter Joan Barlow and husband Tom, son James Matthew, grandson Victor Barlow, and 3 sisters & 2 brothers. Survived by sons John E. Miranda, Jr. and Mark Miranda; daughters Jana Kingsbury and Julie Welch and husband Tom; sister Margaret Lievsay, brother Bill Willis and wife Joan Willis. Grandchildren: Melissa Motta and husband Mike, their children James & Miranda, Jessica Wilder and husband Brett, their child Genevieve, Meagan Fant and husband Jordan, their child Hendrix; step-grandchildren Kathy Brown and daughter Emma, Karen Morris and sons Mac & Connor, Steven and Sean Welch and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends in her extended family which she loved very much. Pallbearers will be Tom Welch, Mike Motta, Jimmy Christon, Frank LaBarba, Jr., Bill Willis, Keith Jackson and Craig Schenkel. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 3606 Kenwood Ave., Dallas, TX 75214 with Father John Libone Celebrant. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W.
