Hamilton, Dorothy Dorothy Marilynn Hamilton, age 79, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on June 8, 2014 peacefully in her home after a courageous battle with several health problems. She was born on July 1, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Floyd and Marie Flowers; whom preceded her in death along with her husband F. D. (Don) Hamilton of 52 years at the time of his death. Survivors include son Rickey Hamilton and wife Stephanie; daughter Debbie Hamilton; son Frank Hamilton and wife Melissa; her grandchildren Gregory Gunta and wife Tamara; Amber Conwell Navarrette and husband Rene; Niki Endicott and husband Brad; Lincoln Hamilton; Caroline Hamilton; Mason Hamilton and Ford Hamilton; 2 great-grandsons Cash Endicott and Colt Navarrette; brother Floyd (Sonny) Flowers, Jr. and wife Shirley; sister Kaye Hunter; step-mother Margaret Flowers and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a loving Wife, Mama and Grandma who's life rotated around her family. She enjoyed reading, blue grass and country and western music, her grandkids and cooking holiday dinners for all the family. She was very creative in crafts, baking and decorating cakes, ceramics, sewing, knitting and crocheting. For many years she volunteered making hats and booties for the preemies at Presbyterian Hospital donating to the American Kidney Foundation. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service Wednesday June 11, 2014, 2:00 P.M. at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Irving. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice Compassus and a special thank you to her weekend caregiver Denise McIntyreand to her live in caregiver and friend of over two years, Nancy Reynolds for all her selfless care and time.
