Dollie Petty Obituary
Petty, Dollie Dollie Petty passed away peacefully on June 16, 2014. She is survived by her children, Cindy Conner & husband Steve of Farmers Branch, TX and Randy Petty & wife Debbie of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Steve, Damon & Caty Conner, Tiffanie Petty Bannon, & Michael Petty; and great-grandchildren, Makayla & Kirsten Chaney, and Alexis, Cameron & Brody Conner, all of whom she loved with all her heart. Dollie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hughes Petty. Dollie Mae McKay was born in Dallas on Aug. 25, 1923. She graduated from North Dallas High School, where she and Hughes met. Dollie & Hughes were married for 63 years at the time of Hughes' passing. Being an only child, Dollie loved all her cousins, and the brothers & sisters-in-law and nieces & nephews of her extended family. Dollie also loved pets, especially dogs & was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, whether they were winning or losing. Dollie worked in bookkeeping, office & property management before becoming a successful Realtor with Ebby Halliday and Remax until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of the Farmers Branch Church of Christ, where she was active in bible study & small groups. Dollie was blessed with excellent health all her life until the past year when her health declined rapidly. The family wishes to thank the doctors & staff of The Madison on Marsh and Elysian Hospice for their wonderful care during Dollie's last months. A memorial service will be held at Farmers Branch Church of Christ, 3035 Valley View Ln, Dallas, TX 75234 at 11am on Sat., June 28, 2014 under the direction of Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas. Those wishing to send flowers may have them delivered to Restland in advance of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dollie's memory may be made to Farmers Branch Church of Christ, or Farmers Branch Animal Adoption Center, 3727 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, 75234, or SPCA of Texas, 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, 75212.
