Bruckner, Deborah Deborah Ruth Kazdan Bruckner, Debbie, a cherished mother, grandmother and friend, was born in Allen Park, Michigan on October 16, 1946, and unexpectedly passed away on July 28, 2014. She was pre deceased by her parents, Morris Kazdan, MD and Anne Rechtman Kazdan, in addition to her only brother, David Kazdan. She grew up in Allen Park, Michigan, as the apple of her father's eye, and eventually married and had a child with her high school sweetheart, Henry Victor Herrick. She subsequently moved to Dallas, Texas in the late 60's. Once in Dallas, Debbie successfully built a real estate management career for herself, beginning as an apartment manager's secretary. Through her hard work, charisma and determination, she was able to achieve a CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation, and rose to become a well respected mentor in the property management industry as the local president of IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management). She worked her way up through her 30 year career at companies including Systech, Daeske, and Ibex, culminating as an esteemed asset manager with the title of COO. The relationships that Debbie created through her professional career meaningfully provided her with great pride and enjoyment. Yet anyone who ever knew her well would tell you that her first priority was always, unequivocally, her daughter Karen. Debbie's continued devotion to Karen and her family, including her son in law and two granddaughters, was the primary motivation of her very existence. Debbie truly valued and appreciated each relationship that she had with the many people she affectionately referred to as her friends, whether they celebrated holidays together, played mahjong or exercised together, shared meals, helped her at home, helped her at the grocery store, helped her with her medical needs, or any frequent combination thereof. She courageously fought her way through many medical issues over the past several years, and was grateful for her family and friends, her doctors and her other health care providers. Debbie is survived by her daughter and son in law, Karen and Michael Ablon, her granddaughters Haley and Annie Ablon, her cousin Phyllis Wolf, and her many treasured friends. May her memory be a blessing. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st at Temple Emanu-El in Dallas, Texas at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debbie's honor to the .
