1948 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Vaughan, Philip Age 66, passed away on August 2, 2014. Philip will be remembered for his good heart, strength, love of family & nature, adventurous spirit & friendliness to all. Philip served his country in the Vietnam War, was a sharpshooter, & earned numerous medals. He was a devoted & loving son, husband, father & friend. Early on, Philip fulfilled his dream of working on helicopters & moved on to inspecting jet engines. He was a world traveler, loved learning about different cultures & their history, and attending any event that brought the family together. One of his most cherished activities was sitting down with loved ones & sharing a good, hearty breakfast. Philip will be greatly missed by all who knew & loved him. Survivors include his loving & devoted wife of 38 years, Cynthia; daughters who adored him, Christy (Chris) McMillon, April (Jerry) Terry, & Tina Vaughan; grandson, Noah McMillon; & a brother Daniel (Donna) Mowdy. Visitation is 6-8 pm, Sunday, August 10, 2014 with Rosary beginning at 7 pm at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Mass is 10:30 am on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1111 W. Danieldale, Duncanville with interment following at DFW National Cemetery.
