Berman, Julius "J.J." Jerry Julius "J.J." Jerry Berman, 96 years old, Dallas, Texas Jerry was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 12th, 1918 to Isadore "Izzy" and Lena Licht Berman. Upon completing service in the US Air Force in North Africa during WWII, Jerry had an illustrious career as a sales executive for the Ideal Toy Company and later CBS Toys. He was married, and lived with his first wife, Marie Galmishe, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jerry truly lived two lives. After caring for his first wife during a long illness and passing, he met the woman he called "the love of his life," Evelyn "Evy" Berman, in 1981. Jerry often said it was "love at first sight," and they were soon married in Dallas and spent the next three decades traveling the world together. Jerry and Evy celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary this past December. Jerry was always a kid at heart and loved dancing, a good poker game and a close horse race. Jerry is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Dallas, TX and his sister, Carol Berman, of West Palm Beach, FL. The extended family that he cherished includes: Stepchildren David and Louise Rosenfield, Sarah Rosenfield, and Cathey & Richard Levine; Nephews and Nieces Mike and Sue Ableman, Scott Ableman and Debbie Shrager; Renee and David Ferrar; Terri and Jim Dinardo; Lu Ann Cahn and Jim Houser; and Linda and Randy Evans; Wayne and Peggy Johnson. While he never had children of his own, the children that lit up his life and he considered his grandchildren include Isaac, Emma and Jonah Ableman; Ethan and Hannah Ableman; Laura, Ben and Adam Rosenfield; Phillip, Leah, Thu and Ming Levine. Services will be held on Sunday, August 17 at 11:00am at Tiferet Israel Cemetery on Dolphin Road.
